Crailtap Shape Guide: Every Girl and Chocolate Deck Shape Explained

Girl and Chocolate are sister brands under Crailtap, and they share something most brands don't publish: a numbered shape library. Every Crailtap deck is built on a shape code, like G089 or G096, and the same code means the same shape whether the graphic says Girl or Chocolate. Learn the codes and you can buy your favorite shape with any graphic.

This guide covers every Crailtap shape we carry, ordered by width, with special callouts for the symmetrical twin tips.

How Crailtap Shape Codes Work

Each code is a specific mold: a set width, length, wheelbase, nose, and tail. Many shapes are tuned by team riders. Sean Malto developed the G023 for nollie power, Mike Carroll fine-tuned the G016, and Griffin Gass developed the G053. Some codes are close relatives of each other: the G089 shares the G052's specs with a straighter rail, and the G053 is an 8.5" version of the G030.

Twin Tips: Crailtap's Symmetrical Shapes

Crailtap's twin tips are symmetrical and non-directional: the nose and tail match, so the board rides the same both ways. Switch and fakie feel just like regular, and there's no front or back to think about. Crailtap's Twin Tip comes in four widths:

Shape Width Length Wheelbase
G080 8.0" 31.88" 14"
G069 8.25" 31.875" 14"
G011 8.3" 31.875" 13.75"
G096 8.5" 31.875" 14"

A Note on Construction

Standard Girl and Chocolate decks are 7-ply North American maple. Girl has also made Pop Secret decks, with a Fiber-Lam top sheet over 6 plies of Canadian maple, which Girl says are stronger, stiffer, and poppier. Pop Secret boards don't come around often, so grab one if you see it.

FAQ

Do Girl and Chocolate use the same shapes?

Yes. Both are Crailtap brands and share the same numbered shape library, so a G089 is a G089 on either brand.

What's the most popular Crailtap shape?

Popsicle street shapes like the G089, G052, and G030 are among the most common in our lineup, along with the G096 twin tip.

What's a twin tip?

A symmetrical, non-directional shape with a matching nose and tail, so it rides the same either way. Crailtap's twin tips are the G080, G069, G011, and G096.

How often do graphics change?

Often. Girl and Chocolate graphics cycle quickly, but the shapes stick around, so use the codes to find your favorite.
