Description

The Prodigy 400 MX-1 midrange is a very overstable, small-diameter midrange, molded in 400 plastic. It's built for players who need control in the wind and on forehands, and it's at its best on power and wind, backhand or sidearm. If you're shopping for a dependable MX-1 for your bag, this 400 run is a great place to start.

400 Plastic

400 is Prodigy's most popular plastic, a premium blend that's extremely durable with an impeccable grip, even when wet. It's often translucent to catch the sunlight, though it can be more opaque, and it has a stiff rim with more "pop" when you flex the center.

The Mold

The MX-1 is a very overstable midrange designed for a predictable finish no matter the release angle. It handles power and wind with no problem, backhand or sidearm, feels like a beaded disc without a bead, and has a slightly smaller diameter than traditional mids.

Stability

The MX-1 is overstable. Overstable discs resist turning over and fade hard at the end, which makes them predictable in wind and at high power. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it resists turning over and finishes with a strong, dependable fade to the left. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, with that hard fade finishing to the right. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It's best suited to intermediate and advanced players, and it's a valuable utility disc for anyone who plays in wind.
