Discraft Disc Golf Anthony Barela USDGC ESP Swirl Venom Pop Top - Choose Exact Disc
Description
The Discraft ESP Venom distance driver is a powerful overstable distance driver, molded in ESP plastic. It's built for high-power players who need control at full power, and it's at its best on wind, forehands, and forced hyzers. This listing is the Anthony Barela USDGC Pop Top release of the Venom. Anthony Barela won the 2025 United States Disc Golf Championship, his first MPO PDGA Major.
ESP Plastic
ESP is Discraft's premier opaque, swirled plastic. It balances a gummy-yet-firm, tacky grip with high durability, which makes it a favorite for all-around everyday play. Your Venom in ESP will hold its flight well over time while giving you more grip than Discraft's harder Z plastic.
The Mold
Designed to resist turn under aggressive releases, the Venom gives high-power players the confidence to attack into wind, lean on forehands, and shape forced hyzers. Its dependable stability and strong finish make it a driver for when control at full power is non-negotiable.
Stability
The Venom is overstable. Overstable discs resist turning over and fade hard at the end, which makes them predictable in wind and at high power. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it resists turning over and finishes with a strong, dependable fade to the left. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, with that hard fade finishing to the right. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It's best for intermediate to advanced players with good arm speed.
