I can't tell the difference between these 97a "NEW" formula and the old 97a formula, but let me tell you they perform very well, I love them above any other wheel on the market! If you like the old 97a's you will like these "new" formula 97a. You may be able to tell the difference but I don't. They ride smooth on rough terrain and they are fast on the park, as long as you have fast bearings (even the cheap REDS but serviced -cleaned-). They slide like Spits 99a's, they are not sticky, but they grip really good when you are carving fast on transition walls. Responsive if you want to slide. Full radial are my good to go wheel, I like 60mm (99a), but the biggest on 97a's are 58mm, still goo. Got a 9" opera deck, wheel wells, Slappy trucks 9" stock bushings/ultra low inverted kingpin, no risers and NO wheel bite, zero wheel bite!!! Pepper XG blk and pepper Salt -clear-, Olympia gold ceramic bearings, super fast!!! I pop the inner bearing seal, just left the one exposing to the outside to keep the dirt away, inner seal are out. Allen button head hardware (like the good ol' days). And yes, I will keep getting Spitfire wheels F4 full radials either 97 or 99 depending on my skate mood after watching a few skate youtube vids.
